Enamelling is the art of fusing glass to metal. It is one of the oldest forms of art and decoration used. Since ancient times, enamel has fascinated people with its unique characteristics and sheer beauty.

Vitreous enamels, which are fired in a kiln at around 800°C, are permanent and have brilliant colours which do not fade over time. Ancient examples exist today and the colour is still as vibrant as the day it was made.

Enamelling, once was the dream of Egyptian Kings and is now developed into a new contemporary art form. There are many and varied techniques for enamelling, and great possibilities for personal innovation.
